Delay in Marriage

Reasons For Delay In Marriage

Yes, this is the burning and most annoying problem to the modern Indian society. Many reasons may contribute to this difficult situation.
Higher education and career-building of girl child is one of the main important reasons for delay in marriage. Every parent wants their girl child to get the best education so that she may not face any problem in her future life, so that she may be financially independent which may help her family and kids. For getting good and higher education, lot of money and time is required. Girls generally get over aged when they seek higher education and make extra efforts to find out a suitable and selected career for themselves.
When career of a girl is established, the parents make efforts to find a suitable match for their daughter. Naturally, a higher status of bridegroom is desired for a higher educated or advanced status girl. Advertisements are given in newspaper or matrimonial services are preferred. Some of the prospective aspirants are selected and list of options is prepared. Procedures for enquiry of antecedent of a suitable bridegroom are carried out. All this procedure consumes most of the time. Again the girl becomes more over aged. Apart from all this, astrological match making becomes a great headache. There is lot of steps involved in the marriage now days. If one finds a suitable match but astrological matchmaking is not up to the mark, one has to consider another case. In cases where match making compatibility is perfect, others factors may not match. Really, this is very annoying and big problems to get a suitable match these days for both the gender especially girls.
Due to these circumstances which are beyond control of any individual, the average marriageable age of girl which was 20-25 a few decades back has gone to 28-33 or even more now in average Indian society.
If we look at the birth chart of a girl, the reason for delay in marriage can be understood astrologically, Seventh house in a horoscope indicates the marriage bliss. This house has its own importance in interpreting the married life status of an individual. Jupiter is the significator of marriage and husband in a girl's horoscope. So placement of Jupiter should also be observed before match making and for a happy married life. In order to interpret 7th house, the following issues should be taken care of:
Look at the 7th house and the planets placed in 7th house. If natural benefic are placed in 7th house, the result will be auspicious. If natural malefic planets are posited in 7th house, result will be inauspicious. Marriage will be delayed and problems will be experienced in finding out a suitable match. Saturn has main role in delaying the marriage.

Now look at the lord of 7th house. If the lord of 7th house aspects its own house, i.e. 7th house, there will be harmony in married life.

If natural malefic planets aspect 7th house, there will be delay in marriage.

Eights house of a horoscope should also be considered because 8th house in horoscope indicates longevity of the spouse. This should be interpreted carefully. If malefic planets are placed in 8th house, match making should be carried out with caution.

Jupiter, being significator (Karak) for marriage always plays important role and favors with the bliss of marriage during its transit in particular houses in horoscope.

According to Indian Astrology, Mars plays very important role in one's marriage. If Mars is placed in 1st 4th 7th 8th or 12th house of a horoscope, the native is said to have Kuja Dosha or Mangal Dosha. Mars in a horoscope effects harmony and happiness in the married life. In certain circumstances, Kuja dosha is nullified. This should also be interpreted cautiously.

Similarly, Venus plays important role in the horoscope of boy.

Tenth house represents in-laws and third house brother-in-laws and sister-in laws. The position of the planets in horoscope representing these houses shows good or bad relations with in-laws.

Love Marriage in Horoscope

Love Marriage In Horoscope
Love marriages are not new to the Indian Society. There are numerous instances in the history when boy married the girl of his choice or vice versa. In modern Indian Society, love marriages are becoming popular and are also being accepted by various communities. Due to modernization of Indian society and lack of social matrimonial services, such marriages are being acknowledged by major portion of educated urban society and such marriages have proved their success and worth in most of the cases.
In arrange marriage love appears on the scene only after marriage. However, love marriage offers an opportunity to the lovers to know each other before marriage. Love before marriage can be well used as a tool to know and test the capabilities to live together with each other i.e.. to know also the shortcomings of each other and potential to adjust with the same. If these traits are tested before hand tactfully, love marriage will be a success.
But out of both lovers who will declare the results whether the other is capable of living together for the whole life. Love is said to be blind. Lovers may not be able to see shortcoming of each other or may not like to consider it as they are blind in love. Or due to physical attraction they may ignore other equally important aspects of life. Here, the elders of the family should be taken in confidence as their experience, advice and guidance may prove to be fruitful. Astrology can also throw light on this subject.
According to Hindu Astrology, favourable combination of benefic planets helps to marry the person he loves.

Astrologically, fifth house in a horoscope represents love and romance. Seventh house belongs to spouse, Relation between fifth house lord and seventh house lord during transit may result in love marriage. This relation may be through exchange of lords of respective houses or through aspect. Marriage will be stable if this combination has the aspect of benefice planets mainly Jupiter. In case of malefic aspect marriage may be troublesome. Lack of faith in relations may end in the court cases. Malefic planets like Rahu, Mars or Saturn may bring disharmony and ultimately break in relations.

According to Vedic Astrology, Venus is the planet of love. Romance is indicated in a horoscope when Venus is in union with the Ascendant and is placed in one of these house i.e. 5th, 7th, and 11th house. How to look in horoscope whether the native will have love marriage or arranged marriage? 5th house symbolizes love and romance and the seventh house marriage. If there is any combination between the lords of these two houses, love marriage will take place whenever the benefic planets aspect them in transit.
Navamansha Kundali have its own importance while looking the marriage status. Results wills be favourable if any of auspicious planetary combination is formed there. In planets, Venus itself is sufficient for love marriage if well placed and being aspected by benefic planets.

Apart from Ascendant and Navamansha, Chandra Kundli should also be analysed.
Benefic planets in 5th or 7th house and their lord with strong Venus is the key for a successful love marriage. Still it is advisable to consult an astrologer for a smooth and happy love-married life.

How to Match A HOROSCOPE Before Marriage

How To Match A Horoscope Before Marriage?
'Marriages are arranged in heaven' is an old saying. If this is true then is there any need to match the horoscopes before proceeding for the marriage. Yes, it is almost necessary because ancient saints by virtue of their knowledge have found out the factors responsible for disturbances in a married life which otherwise ought to be smooth. They have also revealed the remedial measures to bring the train back on the track.
Whenever, we go to astrologer for matching the horoscope of marriageable boy and girl, we simply ask him to confirm about the number of points (gunas) available in the horoscope of both. When the number exceeds more than 18 out of a total of 36, we become sure that matching is satisfactory. More the numbers more the satisfaction. We do not go beyond that except the Manglik Dosh. Even most of the astrologers generally approve this theory and nod for the marriage. But practically, this is not the only criteria for a successful marriage, I my self have seen the lack of harmony and availability of disturbance in married life of couples who have scored 28 or 32 gunas out of 36. They or their parents raise fingers on the sanctity of the ancient art of astrology. So, whenever marriage is considered, the natal charts of the would-be bride and groom should be thoroughly evaluated for a happy married life. Now let us start from the importance of Gunas.
While matching gunas we consider Ashtakut Guna Milan (as per Indian astrology) the details of which are given in the following chart:
Koot Max-Marks allotted Area concerned in life
Varan 1 Deed
Vashya 2 Nature
Tara 3 Destiny
Yoni 4 Progeny
Graha 5 Relationship
Gana 6 Sociality
Bhakoot 7 Life
Nadi 8 Longevity
Total 36
As per Indian Astrology texts, if Bhakoota is auspicious, it ensures successful marriage. Gunas are matched on the basis of Ashtkoota. Bhakoota is 7th in the Ashtkoota. Bhakoota is directly related to the mental plane of husband and wife. Bhakoota are known as:
1st and 7th place relation
2nd and 12th place relation
3rd and 11th place relation
4th and 10th place relation
5th and 9th place relation
6th place relation
Combination at S. No. a), c) and d) are considered to be auspicious for matching compatibility. Birth signs of 1st and 7th place from each other get a happy married life blessed with good children.

Similarly placement of birth signs found in 3rd and 11th place from one another's birth signs bestows financially stability and prosperity in married life. Similarly, if birth signs are in 4th and 10th place the relations will be cordial. As already discussed, other than ashtkoota Milan, the house and planets of both horoscopes must be interpreted properly to ensure smooth life. In other article I shall discuss the manglik/kuj dosha which appears in a horoscope if Mars is posited in 1,4,7,8 or 12 house of a natal chart.

RAJ YOGA & OTHER YOGA IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

Raja Yoga and other Yogas in Astrology

In Vedic astrology associations the planets form or variations of how they are placed in the chart are referred to as Yogas. Yoga means union, or that which joins or yokes. Most yogas are composed of more than one planet. The idea behind most yogas is to equate the planet’s strength in a chart, and how and when it will produce its effects in the person’s life. This is generally determined through the dashas of the planets.

If a planet is involved in many good, strength producing yogas it will give it’s beneficial results at the time the person enters the dasha of that planet. There are auspicious yogas for wealth, success, and happiness as well as inauspicious yogas for downfall, poverty and ill health. The yogas outlined here are the most basic yogas, there are hundreds of yogas to be memorized. But it is more important to understand the concept behind these names.

There are three major yogas based on house ruler ship. They are Raja Yoga, Dhana Yoga, and Arista Yoga.

Raja Yoga

The first mentioned here is a Raja Yoga. Raja Yoga means “royal union”, it is formed by the association of planets and the houses they rule. Raja Yoga is formed by a planet of a kendra house together with a planet of a triconal house. The kendra houses (1,4,7,10) are the houses of manifestation and the triconal houses (1,5,9) are the houses of purpose or dharma. The first house serves as both. When planets are combined with both action and purpose great things manifest.

Yoga Karaka

A Yoga karaka is when one single planet forms Raja Yoga by itself. It rules two different houses, one is a triconal and one is a Kendra. The first house can serve as either in the combination. In both Taurus and Libra ascendants Saturn is the Yoga Karaka. In Taurus ascendant Saturn rules the 9th (trinal) house, and the 10th (kendra) house. For Libra ascendants Saturn rules both the 4th (Kendra) and the 5th (trinal). Other ascendants that have a Yoga Karaka are Capricorn and Aquarius. They both have Venus as the Yoga Karaka. With Capricorn Ascendant Venus rules the5th and the 10th. Aquarius ascendant Venus rules the 4th and 9th. For Cancer and Leo ascendants Mars is the Yoga Karaka. Cancer ascendant will have Mars rule the 5th and the 10th. Leo ascendants will have Mars rule the 4th and the 9th. No other ascendants will have a single planet rule both a kendra and a trine. These are the only ascendants to have a Yoga Karaka. A Yoga Karaka planet will be a planet that brings great benefit to the chart, even though it may be a natural malefic planet.

Yoga Karakas

Taurus: Saturn / Libra: Saturn
Capricorn: Venus/ Aquarius: Venus
Cancer: Mars/ Leo: Mars
Dhana Yoga

The second major yoga defined by house rulership is Dhana Yoga. This yoga brings material wealth and money, because it links the money houses 1, 2, 11 5, 9. The combination of any one of these houses combined with the 1st house ruler would bring wealth to the individual. Actually any combination of these houses would create Dhana Yoga, but the1st house combination is the strongest.

Arista Yoga

The third major yoga formed by house rulership is the Arista Yoga. This is the yoga of suffering and spirituality. Usually the suffering is from illness. The combination of the rulers of the most difficult houses (trik or dusthana) (6,8,12) are combined, but again when these houses are combined with the ruler of the 1st this brings the suffering to the individual. Again as in the Dhana Yoga, any combination of these house rulers would constitute Arista Yoga. Generally it is through our suffering that spirituality is sought. Therefore this yoga will produce both suffering and spiritual opportunities.

A planetary combination of two or more planets can form all three of these yogas, indicating the joy and pain combined in one’s life. For example if the combination of 2 planets create an Arista Yoga and a Dhana Yoga. The planets rule 2 houses (except the Sun and Moon) each, so you would be merging 4 houses together. Therefore 2 planets can be both a Raja Yoga, and a Arista Yoga.

Parivartana Yoga

Another way in which planets can be connected is through parivartana yoga. This is called mutual reception in western astrology. The planets receive connection through being in each other’s sign of rulership. For example: Mars in Cancer, and Moon in Scorpio, Mars is in the sign ruled by Cancer, and the Moon is in the sign ruled by Mars. Their rulerships exchange signs.

A special note if you have a planet that is in aspect, and in parivartana then you have 2 planets in a Sambandha, this means they are completely connected. This makes these planets connect and operate together. They work in unison.

When entering a dasha of a planet involved in parivartana yoga it would simultaneously activate the other planet through this connection. An example of sambandha is the Sun in Aquarius and Saturn in Leo. The Sun and Saturn mutually aspect each other plus they are in each other’s sign of rulership.

Pancha Mahapurusha Yogas

These are called the five Yogas of great people. Pancha means “five”, Maha means “great” and purusha means “man”. The Mahapurusha Yoga is a planet (excluding the Sun and Moon) in it’s own sign or exalted in a kendra (angle). When a planet is a Mahapurusha Yoga will indicate an extremely strong planet barring it’s stamp of representations of that planetary energy, it will be accentuated in the individual’s life.

Papa Kartari Yoga

Kartari means “scissors”, and papa means “sin”. This is also called “hemmed in”. It is when malefic planets surround a house and the planets within that house. There must be a malefic in both the house before, and after (surrounding) the house hemmed in. The malefic planets are Saturn, Mars, Rahu, and Ketu and Sun. Example: Saturn in the 12th house and Mars in the 2nd house, the 1st house is hemmed in by malefics, constituting papa katari yoga for the 1st house. Interpretation: The 1st house would be robbed of protection. The matters the 1st house rules would be harmed. The 1st house rules physical health, and the body. Here the body is harmed.

Shubha Kartari Yoga

Shubha means auspicious. Here the benefic planets surround a house. The benefic planets are Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury. The benefic planets give protection and grace to the house they surround. Example: Venus in the 1st house and Jupiter in the 3rd house, the 2nd house is hemmed in by benefics. Interpretation: The 2nd house and the matters it rules will be blessed with empowerment. The 2nd house rules money matters, and childhood, therefore these matters prove prosperous, and good for the individual.

JUPITER IN HOUSES (GURU)

JUPITER

1.Jupiter in the 1st house- In the first house Jupiter gives a person very good health, good spouse, and higher education. Usually people with this position become teacher, councilors, and lawyers. This also gives a big family, especially the first child will be a boy, unless Venus or moon are sitting in the 5th house. This person is also very religious, and follows the law of the land and culture. However, these people may not have so much wealth, because for them, wealth is knowledge, which means a PhD isn’t always a millionaire, but is respected like one.

2.Jupiter in the 2nd house- Jupiter in the second house if is not affiliated, gives a very business minded person, who either takes on a family business, or opens his own business which may be similar to that of family. This person will do well in the food, clothing and real-estate industry, but usually I’ve seen people becoming writers, public speakers and teachers with this position as it gives a prominent voice. But, having Jupiter is 2nd house may not go that well, as Jupiter is the signafactor of the 2nd house, and sitting in its own place may causes some problem.

3.Jupiter in the 3rd house- In the third house Jupiter gives good relationship with siblings, the person may also receive a lot of help from siblings. The spouse of the native is also very supportive. Like the second house, in the third house Jupiter gives writing ability, and a very high philosophical mind.
4.Jupiter- Jupiter in the 4th house is one of the best position for Jupiter since this his best friend’s house, moon. In fourth house or the fourth sign Cancer, Jupiter is exalted. This gives an on time marriage, a lovely upbringing and love for real-estate; however, if Saturn or Rahu is looking at Jupiter or sitting with Jupiter, it can create a lot of chaos in the native’s family environment.

5.Jupiter in the 4th house- In the fifth house Jupiter brings a lot of luck and wealth to the person. This is the position of a financial analyst, stock broker or accountant. This person may not be an artist, but they will have a creative mind. Usually Venus and Mercury give the artistic talent in the 5th house. But, this can damage the education of a person, or give delayed education. There is a saying for Jupiter, “A lamp gives light to its surrounding area, except the place underneath the lamp.” Is this true about JupiteR? No, This only occurs when Jupiter is eclipsed by Rahu as in Guru Chandal Yoga or when Jupiter is a 'functional melafic for a ascendant'.

6.Jupiter in the 6th house- Jupiter in the sixth house gives victory over enemies, gains from friends, lots of wealth especially if it’s exalted or in its own sign, however this placement can also cause a lot of debt and health problems.

7.Jupiter in the 7th house- In the seventh house, Jupiter gives a business minded person, who may also become famous at some point in their life. This position also could make the native a lawyer, or be in some sort of government or political position. Jupiter in the 7th house doesn’t necessarily give an early marriage or a good spouse; remember what I said about the lamp quote? But, this position gives a long lasting marriage.

8.Jupiter in the 8th house- Jupiter in the 8th house makes a person a healer, with a very spiritual mind. Gives a long life, and will to rise up after falling dramatically from a point in life. However, this position also gives the native a very weak posture, and their eyesight can be damaged as well. This person is always dealing with some health problem, or doesn’t have a healthy weight.

9.Jupiterin the 9th house- In the ninth house, Jupiter blesses a person with lots of luck from god, a huge and wealthy family, and a very good education. However, since Jupiter is about expansion, this position can also give excessive weigh to a person. Usually people with Jupiter in the 4th, 5th, or 9th house have excessive weigh. But, this is very good position for health, and status in society.

10.Jupiter in the 10th house- Even thought all planets except Ketu gives good results in 10th house, Jupiter, too, doesn’t really feel comfortable in 10th house, especially since its weakest position in the 10th sign of Capricorn. Jupiter is about religion, spirituality, and dharma. Jupiter is like a teacher, or professor, and they usually do not like to work, but rather give lectures, sitting in their office and just study. Here, Jupiter is forced to work in place where they not only are forced to use their mind on things they do not want to think about, but are also forced to use their body.

11.Jupiter in the 11th house- This is one of the best position for Jupiter besides the 4th house. In this house Jupiter can make a person a multi-millionaire, or billionaire, since Jupiter loves to expand, and 11th house is about incoming gains. During its dasha, this is the best place for having a good and positive Jupiter. Jupiter and Saturn both give lot of wealth to the native in 11th house. In this position most people are their own boss, or work independent as a consultant.

12.Jupiter in the 12th house- This position is one of the best one to become a spiritual guru, or just a spiritual person who doesn’t really care for material things. However, this position also damaged the logically mind of a person, who may be forced to live in a logical world where they need to have street smartness, and Jupiter in the 12th house gives a very dreamy nature to a person, who might be lost in their own world most of the time and refuse to take any real action towards improving their material life. In this position people usually like being single, or do not really care for marriage and partnership. Health wise, too, people have constipation problem and stomach problem with this position.

In conclusion, there is a saying about Jupiter which I mentioned in the 6th house paragraph. , “A lamp gives light to its surrounding area, except the place underneath the lamp.” This not really true, this only happens when Jupiter is eclipsed by Rahu or when Jupiter is a 'functional melafic for a ascendant'.

KETU MAHADASHA (south node of moon)

Ketu mahadasha (south node dasha in Jyotish)

Ketu's mahadasha which lasts for 7 years in the native's life brings about detachment form material world. Ketu originally represents detachment, spirituality, enlightenment, letting go of things we desire, interest in occult knowledge, isolation, psychic, and asharams. During the mahadasha of Ketu one experiences sudden fall from their relationships, material wealth, loss of status and reputation, unless the depositor aspects or sits with Ketu. Most people have always experienced some sort of hardship regarding the house where Ketu was placed in. They suddenly feel no interest towards the things where Ketu resides. They want to get to the truth of life and existence. This is why many seek astrological knowledge, occult knowledge and tarot knowledge during Ketu's mahasasha or antra dasha because of the occult aspect. If Ketu is forming a Raj yoga by being placed in Kendra or trikona then there could be great gains in such times. Ketu doesn't always gives all the things we talked about but that's what it represents. People usually take foreign journeys to holy palaces have sudden interest in monks and monetary or isolated places event through they might be getting gains in such time period.

If the native's Ketu is in the 7th house then there could be sudden separation, detachment or lack of interest in marriage, partnership, business or career in general since 7th house is 10th from the 10th. Ketu in 5th house can suddenly show separation from children having lack of interest in raising children and creative purists. If Ketu is in the 6th, 8th or 12th house then sign placement and it's depositor's position is very critical because that will determine if the native will have good experience through such houses, usually malefic planets do well in dushtana houses, however, there are sensitive placements that can go either way. If the depositor is in kendra and strong by sign placement then Ketu dasha will bring victory over the things related to such negative houses, if Upachaya house then it will improve over time, especially if Ketu dasha comes in 40's it will give far better results due to depositor being in a upachya house. Ketu is that one planet that is most sensitive to its depositor's placement. Usually all planets can handle themselves even if the house foundation is weak, but Ketu who already wants to let go of material things, wealth and relationships needs a tight grip on his leash to keep our material world under control because we living in a 3 dimensional plain where we have to pay bills, raise kids, go to work and find shelter. Ketu is blind to such things and doesn't care except to find the truth about the source energy.

VENUS MAHADASHA IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

Venus mahadasha (Shukra mahadasha in Jyotish)

Venus mahadasha in lasts for 20 years. This is the longest time period in the entire dasha cycle. Venus in Vedic Astrology mainly represents love, relationships, marriage, comfort, design, art, creativity, lust, sexuality, females, happiness, passion, pets, animals, sensuality, and any kind of pleasure in life. During the mahadasha of Venus one's main focus becomes forming relationships with all kinds of people, finding pleasure in some aspect of their life while at the same time devoting their life to their spouse. People feel very creative during such time. They want to create art, design or have tremendous interest in performing arts like acting, singing, Broadway or stage play, especially if Venus is situated in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th and 10th house. Venus is our sense of pleasure, so during the mahadasha the native's main focus will be on seeking pleasure and finding luxurious things in life. Sometimes people become over spender during Venus' dasha and become extravagant, but that usually happens when Venus is debilitated, and people become insecure. However, Venus mahadasha ususally brings about feelings of making things perfect and beautiful. Venus is about beauty, cleanliness and design. This can symbolically lead one perfecting their life, re-designing their path and arranging everything in their life to be organized and neat.

Venus and Jupiter time periods are mainly known for acquiring of wealth and all types of comfort. This is why it becomes critical for the native to have a well placed Venus, at least by house placement. If the native is single they will usually get married during Venus-Venus, Venus-Moon, Venus-Jupiter or Venus-Rahu antra dasha. Venus, the karaka of relationships brings about many opportunity regarding relationship, romance and love. It's up to the native to take action towards those opportunities. Depending upon the house where Venus is placed, the source of pleasure will become the meaning of such house. If Venus is in the 5th house then there could be great pleasure in performing arts, acting, cinema, being involved with children or being involved with ancient texts. If Venus is in the 9th house then during Venus' mahadasha one will seek pleasure through learning, graduate degree, philosophy, religion and spirituality. Venus doesn't really mean art, beauty and culture in every house, Venus simply makes the things related to the house pleasurable. This why two people with Venus in the sign of Libra may not be doing the same thing, because depending upon the house, one can become an actor the other can become a lawyer. But during the mahadasha of any planet, the planet itself is not the only element that comes alive, the sign or houses ruled by that planet will also play a huge part and become active along with any planet sitting in the nakshatra of the mahadasha lord will also become active. In Venus' case, if any planet is sitting in the sign of Bhrani, Purva Phalguni and Purva Ashada, then those planets will also become active like the light blub.
